Glidevale Protect’s range of accessories for tile and slate roofs offer better performance than the traditional alternatives. Easy to install and dependable, our roofing accessories are designed to reliably maintain the weatherproof function of the roof covering. The range includes a ventilated dry ridge and hip system, dry verge systems, valley troughs, bonding strips, eaves skirt and AluFlash flashing – the environmentally friendly alternative to lead.
Roof space ventilation
Protect Fulmetal RediRoll & UniRoll are innovative universal dry-fixed ventilated ridge and hip systems to achieve the requirements of BS 5250, BS 8612 and BS 5534. With the ventilated roll manufactured entirely from aluminium, the Fulmetal range ensures long term durability and weather resistance, overcoming the potential issues with traditional fabric based roll ridge systems. Options available include Fulmetal UniRoll with ridge unions for use between the ridge tiles or Fulmetal RediRoll without the need for unions.
Underlay Protectors
Helping to protect against sagging and ponding, the Protect OFV Eaves Skirt replaces both the underlay into the gutter and the traditional tilting fillet and is suitable for both new-build or refurbishment projects. It will also not rot in the gutter like bitumen- based products and helps ensure the correct water discharge, as well as preventing wind noise under load. It is compatible with Glidevale Over Fascia Ventilators or can be directly installed onto the fascia board, with its flexible design allowing access for fitting gutter brackets.
Dry Verge Systems
Our Universal Dry Verge system provides a universal solution for all interlocking tiles and thanks to its ambidextrous design, can be used for either left or right verges. The system has been developed to overcome the typical maintenance problems associated with mortar verges and is resistant to cracking and wind uplift. For natural and artificial slate tiles, the DV Slate Dry Verge system offers the same benefits and reliable high performance.

To help protect roof valleys from damage, the Universal Dry Fix Valley Trough provides a much neater finish than mortar bedding and the Univally 125 Valley Trough, which is suitable for both slate or tile roofs, is also versatile and simple to install.
For extra peace of mind, the Protect Universal GRP Bonding Strip offers protection against weathering at the junction between old and new roofing materials, or on adjoining properties.
Lead Alternatives
With lead flashings often at the mercy of theft and fluctuating material prices, aluminium is becoming a popular alternative. Lightweight, easy to handle and highly durable, AluFlash offers all the traditional benefits of lead without the disadvantages as it is recyclable, environmentally friendly and poses no risk of contaminated run-off water. AluFlash also offers design flexibility and is available in two unique surfaces finishes depending on the application.
Solar Terminals
With the growing awareness of the environmental and cost benefits of sustainable energy, solar panel installations are becoming increasingly popular. The Protect G6 Solar Inlet Terminal has been designed to guarantee the integrity of the roof when cables and pipes are routed through tiles, slates and roofing membranes. Designed with ease of use and flexibility in mind, holes can be drilled where needed to accommodate different cable and pipe sizes and diameters. Easy to install, the terminal features a compressible foam filler for resistance against driving and deluge rainfall.
