The provision of habitable homes for everyone is a subject close to our hearts so we’re pleased to be a sponsor of the recently published industry research ‘The importance of healthy homes’.
Produced by Housing Management and Maintenance magazine, the research looks at the common complaints of sub-standard housing – including poor ventilation, mould growth and expensive heating – as well as the housing professionals’ views on the barriers to overcoming these and how much of their own housing stock they would describe as healthy.
The results make for interesting reading and show that there is still much to be done to make healthy homes in social and private rented housing a reality.
The report also includes our case study about our work with social housing provider believe housing, where a number of their homes have been re-roofed with our air and vapour permeable roofing underlay, Protect Viking Air, to ensure the required roof ventilation is provided within the homes.
